chairman's message for 2008/9 season
A warm welcome to the new season to all players
and their families.
There have been a few changes to the club officials this summer. After many
years of service as chairman Ron Downs has accepted the offer of becoming club
President. May I take this opportunity to thank Ron for all his efforts during
his reign as chairman and may he enjoy his more 'relaxed' role as President
In particular I would like to extend a warm welcome to all the new players who
have joined us this season I hope you enjoy your time with us and hope all your
aspirations are fulfilled. Welcome back to the girls team and their new manager
Baz great to have you on board.
Over the summer although not much football is being played a lot of work goes on
behind the scenes by managers and officials preparing for the new season but
especially by our secretary Kirsten who has to ensure all the players are
registered and all the necessary affiliations are completed so a big thank you
to her.
Everybody within the club gives their time and efforts free of charge so I would
like to take this opportunity to ask any parents or families who would like to
give a little time back to the club there are always small jobs that need doing
such as help with the newsletter, running the soon to be formed club shop etc.
This years summer tournament was a great example of what can be achieved through
everyone's hard work so a big thank you to everyone who helped make it the most
successful tournament for many years.
I hope this isn't turning into a begging letter but in order to keep the yearly
subs down for everyone the club is run on a shoestring so any form of
sponsorship is always welcome be it small or large. I am proud to say this
season our main sponsor is once again ASDA Pudsey to whom I thank for your
support and look forward to a continued successful partnership
Here's to a successful but more importantly enjoyable season and may I remind
players and supporters alike that we as a club are behind the FAs Respect
campaign in a bid to provide the boys and girls of our club a safe and enjoyable
environment to play their football.
